LOVE IT. They couldn’t pick a group of more relatable, yet well-spoken, grounded actors. And such champions for each others’ work. As much as Clooney can annoy me, I love his attitude toward the industry. (Though, my God, he knocks Kentucky a lot!) :)

Other tidbits:
—While in print, Newsweek made Tilda Swinton come off as a bit prickly and stand-offish, on video, she is utterly compelling, and a hoot at times. I love the way she gave Clooney shit.

—Charlize Theron is a goddess in all senses of the word. Great sense of humor and insights. And I know she is no way Fassbender’s type, but the two were quite chummy. I can’t count how many times they were subconsciously leaning toward each other or pressed against each others’ arms.

—Viola Davis’ comments on artistry bring killed by commerce were spot-on. And her humbleness was a delight to witness. She is very much about the work first, the “fame” never, I love that.

—I appreciated that Michael truly took the event as an opportunity to soak in all these other actors’ experiences and insights. He wasn’t too “on” or arrogant, but really, almost a great student, yet able to talk eloquently on his own process.

As of late to me, his publicity team seems to be crafting this brazen, charm monster, stud image for him, so I love it when he gets to “talk shop” and show his real personality—more goofy and geeky for the craft. It’s cute to see him all red and nervous and eager to listen. The fact he was the only one wig a drink at the table shows how anxious he was, but he was utterly charming…

—Christopher Plummer’s Terry Malick insight was enthralling. it’s true, Terry does overwrite, for better or worse…
